This Isn't About Candles
I know it has been a little while since I've hopped on here. I honestly don't know who is following this anymore! I deleted all social media because it was TIME. TIME to cut the things out that were taking priority over other ACTUAL priorities. Let's talk about time. I've had to make some changes in my life. Because it is TIME. Social media isn't lighting a fire in me. It was dragging me down and consuming my life. I've been working in a new management position because it was TIME to listen to God and watch Him answer prayers about finances. I have had to listen to God because it was TIME I started taking His advice on who has my best interest. It's TIME I stopped going through the motions and started making God a priority. After all, He is my Father, and He should be my primary source of guidance and comfort. It was TIME I sat down and laid it all out for the Lord (who already knows how I feel, by the way). It's TIME to start living into my purpose as a human being who has been back in her home state for 2 months. It is TIME to understand that a candle loses nothing by lighting another candle, no matter where that candle is. I've grieved the loss of my Kentucky life, and it is TIME to pick myself up by my bootstraps and continue to learn to light the candles in my community. What do we lose by lighting another candle with our candle? Our light continues on. We get to light another candle who can then light another candle. The cycle repeats, and it can do so for the greater good. It takes nothing extra to light others' lives. It is TIME to start making a difference. We need light in this dark, dark world. Our light should be made up of love, kindness, smiles, understanding, openness, and Jesus. It is TIME to yearn for a deeper relationship with our Creator, and it is TIME to take the steps necessary to do so. And guess what? God helps lay it all out for us to abide by. We just have to make TIME to listen and respond appropriately. So, from one candle to another: I hope you feel pretty and your coffee tastes good today. Use this light the Lord has given me to give to you, so you may give unto others.
