Smile and Wave Boys

Hey friends. It has been a minute. Actually, it's been a couple minutes since I have been on here. My brain has been running a million miles a minute, and I can't get it to stop. What else is new though? Let me try to recap the last several weeks:

  • Work (sometimes God tests ya patience)
  • Grad school (salty tears, coffee, finishing my final test, and deteriorating mental health--the mental health part is being slightly exaggerated, but still)
  • I've cooked MAYBE twice in the last few months
  • My body hurts
  • Thanksgiving was interesting
  • I feel pretty far from God actually, so that stinks
  • I'm still struggling with my purpose
  • This may be exaggerating, but I feel like my life is kind of crumbling at the moment BUT CHRISTMAS BREAK IS ALMOST HERE
Do you ever think about how you thought your life was going to go, but then it does not go that way? Like you feel so confident in all the things, and then life strips it all away, situation by situation? Yeah, that's pretty wild. My new favorite saying comes from the movie Madagascar: "Just smile and wave boys, smile and wave." So when something unexpected happens, or I feel that my whole life is turning upside down like a lake turning over during the changing seasons, I whip that quote out and smile and wave. I don't really have anything inspiring to say at this moment in time other than that. I'm logging off now. Good luck on finals, in your workplace, in your home, in your spiritual life, and in your friendships. May God give you the nudge to know who the real ones are and who the fake ones are. And remember to just smile and wave boys, smile and wave.

Love,

An exhausted Lauren
