Finding Joy in the Newness and Uncertainty

Hi lovelies! It has been a while since I last posted here. Honestly, I've been adjusting to my new life, my new path, and all the other newness around me. Here are some things that are new in my life:

1. My home!

2. My career path (still discerning what is going on)

3. The people I surround myself with

4. My baby nephew

5. My routine

God creates newness around us, and when He does that, He creates newness in us. Sometimes that is scary and anxiety-provoking--for me, it was. Not as much anymore, but I'm still adjusting and settling in. I have learned that newness is good! When my new life started, all I knew going into it was that trusting God was the only (and best) option I had. I put ALL my trust in the Lord. It was all or nothing, and I chose ALL. Sometimes stepping in a new direction is terrifying, even though you know you made the best move. A godly move. I stepped through a new door that led to a new path, but with the same Heavenly Father who was always there. My attention needed to be grabbed in a new way to take me down a new road. This created a lot of uncertainty within me. Am I POSITIVE this is right? Is this the right home? Why is God turning my life around (I know part of the reason now)? Why are the new people in my life sticking around during my toughest moments? When will I be able to have a family? What is the purpose of this new routine? I have all these questions, and I'm not meant to know all the answers. As I reflect, I can gather some of the answers, though. Reflection is good. Reflection is healthy. But how can I find joy and peace of mind when there are so many unknowns and so many new things happening in my life? The answer is simple with multiple parts, yet somehow can be incredibly difficult: LISTEN TO THE LORD AND ALLOW HIM TO REARRANGE YOUR LIFE EVEN WHEN IT IS UNEXPECTED!! When you surrender your plans to the Lord, He makes all things new and will lead you down the path that will be the most beneficial to your purpose. He may even create a new purpose for your life. He will help you thrive instead of you just surviving. He will help you grow and flourish into who He is calling you to be. When we pause and take a moment to remember that the Lord makes everything work for our good and growth, listening and finding joy in the newness and uncertainty of life is easier and more fulfilling.

With all my love,

A Lauren who is finding herself in a new way
